May 87' - March 04'' Sugar is the cat that started it all. She was my cat and my cat alone. She had a preference for me and our bond stemed back to the night I brought her home in a basket when I was only 4 years old. I remember singing to her in the car to sooth her fears and so she wouldn't miss her mom and siblings. Sugar loved me when I was happy and when I was sad. She was always by my side whenever I cried and would lick the tears off my cheek. That just may be because she liked the salt but I know her purring was meant to sooth my growing pains. Sugar was my baby.
Sadly, sugar passed away last spring of liver disease at the old age of 17. Behind her she left her daughter Dolly Parten Schuler of Norskipoints to carry on her legacy. You can see the close resemblance of the two in the picture below (top: Sugar, bottom: Dolly). Everyday Dolly looks more and more like her beautiful mother. Sometimes I find myself calling her sugar by accident.
Because my parents never expected me to want to breed Traditional Siamese when I came of age, they never asked for Sugar's papers from her breeder. You will not find these cats in the show ring, but they are pure blooded Siamese. We breed for the old fashion style Siamese that can be found in old Disney movies and who were the first of their breed to be imported to the United States before they were bred to extremes. I plan to always have a daughter of Sugar with me and to continue her legacy into future generations for all to enjoy.
